Nick Zigelbaum and Kate MacLean together with their young son run at small diversified Animal Welfare Approved farm on 120 acres in Chelsea, Vermont. Nick raises Milking Devon cows and Kate raises Icelandic sheep and Ossabaw pigs. The farm carries with it many chickens, dogs, a few goats, and a Jersey milking cow too.

5.24.2012

today's going to be one of those good birthdays. i can feel it. off to fetch lilacs from the neighbors and make some biscuits for breakfast.

little lucky fox gave me a kiss on the nose and then ran off after this picture. i don't think he much likes sitting in front of a computer. silly wild fox.

excuse the second photo of me in two days. 27 and 28. (embarrassingly wearing the same dress, but i fell asleep in it). now i have it on record for how i aged and will return to normal broadcasting of animals, food, and runofthemill pastoral vomit .

  1. The very fact you took the pond plunge, not once but TWICE on this, your 28th birthday morning AND Nick brought you lilacs last weekend AND you got
a morning kiss on the nose from Lucky makes me feel all is right with the Universe.

I remember that very happy morning with your Mom 28 yeas ago like it was yesterday. Happy Birthday darling!

  12. Happy Birthday!

I think that this picture is, you know, like a scene from a fairy tale. Baby fox, magic and happiness. Only a baby fawn is missing. Things that probably all children dreamed of (I know I did). Seems like an amazing way to start the 28th.
